S.C.O.P.E. Sheriff Mounted Patrol
![]()
We are S.C.O.P.E. (Sheriff Community Oriented Policing Effort) citizen volunteer mounted patrol members on horses and mules serving in partnership with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office as 'eyes and ears' on public lands in Spokane County, at community events on request, farm, ranch and home & property checks and parking patrol at public and private functions. We assist the Sheriff's office with reports of found, stolen or missing horses, horse trailers and tack (saddles) by sending, receiving and broadcasting information and pictures locally and nationwide over the internet (and cell phones) via NetPosse. We also help educate the equine community about identifying and proving ownership of stolen or missing horses and tack and making rural farm, ranch and home premises more resistant to theft and loss and increasing residents' personal safety.
